A typical bank holiday weekend morning; cloudy and cool with a light breeze. Just a trickle of Manx Shearwaters and the odd Gannet passing.
Helen appeared just as I was driving off for a short break. When I returned she told me about the small falcon, almost certainly a Merlin, which she had enjoyed in my absence.
The usual waders became easier to count as the tide came in; 23 Turnstones and 26 Ringed Plover which were later joined by a Redshank. Earlier I had a Curlew heading south . Helen then found a Razorbill on the sea. When I arrived there were four Med Gulls on College rocks, but odd ones and twos were flying in and by the time we left there were 36.
