I've had an email from Adrienne Stratford which contained details of colour-ringed Choughs seen by Silke and a couple from Ian Morris from last year. The email also contained the following request for information.
I’m
always very happy to hear about any other colour-ringed choughs, and to provide
details of their origins and recorded history, if identifiable. Even part
combinations can be useful – these can often be narrowed down or resolved.
I’m
also keen to receive any records of feeding choughs (or choughs on the ground),
with or without any colour-ring info – for which I just need the date, location
details (preferably with 6-fig grid ref), how many birds + if possible what they
were doing (e.g. feeding on short-grazed sheep pasture, or digging in seaweed on
strand-line etc.). Collectively, these records can be very useful to help guide
chough management advice – re site designations and agri-environment agreements
etc. The only records that I’m unable to make much use of are just fly-over
records of a small number of choughs, unless in an unusual place (e.g. inland or
in in the mountains).
