High tide at Ynyslas

I arrived at Ynyslas this morning for the first of this week's high tides to find John, Jill, Liz and Silke already there. We made our way to the point where the weather went from dull through drizzle to rain and back again.
A roost of ca 2500 Dunlin and Ringed Plovers greeted us but despite five pairs of eyes all we could find among them were three juvenile Knot.  There were also two Wheatears at the water's edge and a very vocal Whimbrel flew in off the sea.
Back on the estuary side there were 34 Sandwich Terns on the posts, where Silke and Liz had earlier had a Common Tern, and met up with Bob, complete with dogs.
