A lovely autumn morning for birding, even if actual birds were in short supply. Eight Red-throated Divers at Borth, then a short detour to Ynyslas produced nothing ( didn't bother going to the point after seeing all the dog walkers heading that way).
High tide at the Saltings Hide brought up only the usual wildfowl and waders, highlights being three Pintail and the Red-breasted Goose - I know, but it is a very handsome bird.
On the way back I met Andy Dent, visiting birder from the midlands, and we spent a pleasant hour or so watching Kites, Buzzards and a Kestrel on the saltings, but no harrier.
