Llanrhystud to Llanon

Single Wheatears were at Llanrhystud and Llanon this morning, with large numbers of Pipits along the coast, mostly Meadow, some Rock.  Just the odd Mediterranean Gull around, and on the sea a total of ten Red-throated Divers, plus another two and five Common Scoter passing.
Waders were concentrated at Llansantffraed, as they often are.  Along the bay were 15 Ringed Plovers, seven Turnstones and a Dunlin.
I could see Andre Morgan at the northern end of the bay, so he probably managed better counts than my 18 Curlews and 35 Golden Plover.
On the way home I tried Cross Inn Forest.  No sign of a shrike yet, in fact hardly a bird to be seen, though a distant Goshawk made the walk worthwhile.
