I walked up to the pillbox on the Dyfi at Ynyslas this morning for the
high tide. Apart from the very obvious (two little egrets) there was very little
close enough for me to identify with my binoculars, although I did pick out a
few wigeon and pintail in the estuary, and four grey plovers.
I also had a very
unpleasant confrontation with a wildfowler (from "the Marches") who seemed to
think that because he had a permit to shoot it entitled him (and his mate) to
exclusive use of the entire estuary for the day. They don't realise that the bad
behaviour of one will reflect negatively on them all.
