The stiff north-west wind brought 15 Gannets this morning, all heading north, and a Curlew and a Teal went south.  A male Wigeon was hanging around College Rocks.

John tells me that Helen had five Purple Sandpipers on Wednesday.

The first appearance of the distinctive white Oystercatcher in the Ceredigion report was in 2006, at Aberaeron in Jan, Feb and August, though there is a note in the 2009 report that Peter Davies first saw it in Aug 2005.

It has re-appeared every year since, though never between April and July (and only once in March, on 1st). So the mystery is, where does it go during the breeding season?
