The day that nearly wasn't
This morning, ducking and diving between prolonged showers, I visited a few spots in the Teifi valley. At Pont Gogoyan as well as regular wintering wildfowl there was a Peregrine and a Little Egret. Another Egret, or the same, was nearby at Pant Pool along with 4 Little Grebes. Ystrad Caron and Pont Einon produced nothing new so I retreated home. After lunch it was drier so I returned to Cors Caron for a quick hike around the boardwalk. A Peregrine was over the hillside, and later, the bog itself. As I returned to the car park Buzzards and Kites were over the hill, then suddenly so was the Golden Eagle. One of the raptors was having a go at the Eagle. Blimey, a Goshawk, too. All this and Water Rail providing "musical" accompaniment to my left. And to think that, in a moment of weakness, I almost agreed to do overtime today.
