The grim news on the broader front is that funding is being withdrawn for many vital projects as conservation is in the firing line when it comes to WAG balancing the books.
The conference ended with a plea from Julian Hughes for all of us birding in Wales, in whatever way, to become members of WOS so they are empowered when consulting with NRW and WAG.
His second appeal, thoroughly and energetically endorsed by Steve Roberts, was for us to contribute to more accurate breeding records across Wales for all species. (Ian Morris, hold your head up here!!)
