An hour's watch from the castle this morning produced 10 Kittiwakes, nine Red-throated Divers, six Common Scoter and a surprise in the form of a passing Harbour Porpoise. Six Purple Sandpipers were roosting on the wall.
I could hardly believe the improvement in Chris's condition this afternoon. Not only did he look so much better than I've seen him on previous visits, but he was feeling well enough to crack jokes in between feasting on various delicacies.
