The Dyfi again today

I spent another enjoyable day birding the Dyfi today. The King Eider was showing well near the tern posts and the Eurasian Whitefront was still with the two Pinkfeet in fields near the level crossing. Sadly there was no sign of the Twite along the Leri but a smart Water Pipit was a nice consolation. This evening I thought I’d stand around on Borth bog for a bit, looking for birds of prey. It was rather successful with 4 Hen Harriers (3 ringtails and a male), a Merlin, a Peregrine, a Buzzard and my first Welsh Barn Owl. One of the Hen Harriers put up a Jack Snipe and a Great Spotted Woodpecker rather bizarrely came in off the bog to roost in some willows.
