At Tan y Bwlch yesterday there was a single swallow flying over the
harbour.
Later there were five purple sandpipers roosting on the sea
wall on
Aberystwyth prom.
On the way home from Aberystwyth something caught my
eye as we drove
past Nant yr Arian so I went back early this morning to have
a proper
look. Just as I thought there were two great crested grebes on one
of
the lakes. Also on this lake were two little grebes, three tufted
ducks
(one female), two Canada geese, and, flying above getting buffeted
by
the strong wind, was a single swallow. On the main lake (where
they
feed the kites) there were, I think, sixteen tufted ducks only three
of
them female. They were very difficult to count. There was also
one
little grebe and two male goosanders.
