Common Sandpipers: part 2

Luckily Helen came along just as I was about to leave the prom this morning, otherwise I would have missed the party of seven Common Sandpipers which flew in from the north, reached the point and turned round.
We walked to Castle Point and there were 15 on College Rocks. Despite being gradually pushed off  by the rising tide they seemed reluctant to leave, only flying off when the rocks were completely covered.
Earlier there were two Bottle-nosed Dolphins lazing around off the harbour entrance.

Helen also had autumn passage birds earlier in the week, with five Curlews on Thursday and five Sandwich Terns yesterday (two definite, three probable).
