Ynyslas this morning

John and I started at the brickhouse early today but after staring at a birdless sea for 45 min in a brisk and chilly onshore wind we admitted defeat and continued to Ynyslas.
Very little at first from the tern posts, but gradually the incoming tide started pushing birds into view.
Four Whimbrel flew down the estuary and continued overhead, calling as they headed for the coast.
A Black-tailed Godwit joined a group of Oystercatchers and a party of eight Sanderling dropped in.
Otherwise, a flock of 100 plus distant small waders eventually came on to the beach close enough for us to establish that they were all Dunlin and Ringed Plover.
