I decided to stay near the tern posts for the rising tide this morning as it looked quite busy towards the point. Several flocks of small waders flew past towards the point, though I only managed to pick out one Turnstone (five at Aberystwyth earlier) from among the Dunlin and Ringed Plover.
Otherwise, among the many Oystercatchers and Curlews up the estuary were nine Redshank and a Whimbrel, and six Golden Plover flew over; a sure sign of autumn.
A quick look at Ynys Tachwedd produced at least 55 Linnets strung along a fence, with a similar sized flock further along on the golf course.
