To the Ynys Feurig hide this morning, passing a singing Chiffchaff on the way. Russell soon arrived and counted 680 Teal with a few Wigeon and Pintail, plus four White Wagtails. He then picked out a Kingfisher, an Osprey and four Sandwich Terns.
Out on the estuary were the Red-breasted Goose and a Great Crested Grebe.
Large numbers of Swallows in the area, among which were a few House Martins and the odd Sand Martin.
Eventually the tide pushed some waders onto the pools, mostly Curlews plus 19 Bar-tailed Godwits, a Whimbrel and a Snipe.
Hoping to find a Red-throated Diver, I called in at Borth on the way home and sure enough there was a bird in breeding plumage on the sea near the golf clubhouse.
