Royal Mail bird tours
As I pulled into a new housing development in Aberbanc this morning, I noticed a large number of House Martins. Maybe 200. Not in the air but on roofs or else on the recently laid tarmac. I was looking forward to getting among the fluttering mass when suddenly, as one, they ascended vertically at great speed as if sucked upwards, and were gone. Very soon the cause of this sudden evacuation appeared- a Hobby cruising low over the village. Just down the road in the woods near the railway in Henllan, a Marsh Tit was calling.
