Some high tides over the next few days; I hope anyone who goes to Ynyslas to check the wader roost has better luck than Russell and I did this morning.
Just a couple of Sanderling among the hundreds of Dunlin and Ringed Plover at the point, and two or three Sandwich Terns around. Most unusual sight was two Gannets well up the estuary.
Earlier we had an hour at the brickhouse but apart from Cormorants and Common Scoter there was little to be seen. I had a passing Great Crested Grebe before Russell arrived then we had to be contented with a few Gannets, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Sandwich Terns and Manx Shearwaters, and I mean a few.
