First Chiffchaff

OK, not a spring migrant, but a surprise on my lunchtime walk was a wintering Chiffchaff, feeding on the ground in front of Rummers by Aberystwyth harbour. It was flitting around the weeds along the base of the wall, picking off insects in the sunshine. Also a Kingfisher on the Rheidol behind the skate park, Grey Wagtail and Moorhen near the Trefechan footbridge, 3 Purple Sandpipers on the prom wall near Castle Point and 31 Turnstones on North Beach, looking very colourful in the sun. Like Harry, I failed to find any storm-driven seabirds of note.
