A nice morning on the Dyfi

A really enjoyable walk around Ynyslas and the Leri this morning. The highlight being a Great White Egret that dropped onto the flooded dune slack just north of the caravan park. I enjoyed incredible views of the bird but just as soon as I got the camera out it flew off down towards the Leri. Managed a few blurry record shots as it flew away.
A search for it along the Leri proved unsuccessful but there was a cracking Water Pipit that was part way into summer plumage, 2 summer plumage Black-tailed Godwits, a female Merlin and 2 Cetti's Warblers.
The sea was flat calm off the brick house which helped me find 4 Velvet Scoters, 4 Red-throated Divers, 5 Shelduck and 70+ Common Scoter. 2 of the Velvets were distant but a nice series of wing flaps and dives helped clinch the ID. I got the impression that they were both males, I bet they were both rather smart! 5 Chiffchaffs, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Wheatear, 19 Sand Martins, 17 Sanderling, 8 Stock Doves and a Greylag Goose were also seen.
