Blackcap on Pendinas

John and I had a walk along the lower slopes of Pendinas this morning.  At least six singing Chiffchaffs, one of which we saw well.  Then snatches of Blackcap song had John leading us into an impenetrable thicket of Hawthorn and Bramble in an effort to see the bird. No luck, but we managed to get out..
The local Kestrel hunted the slopes above and the sunshine brought out a Small Tortoiseshell, a Red Admiral and five Speckled Woods.
Later, a walk along the bay brought two Choughs, a Linnet, eight Teal in the ditch, a Redshank and three Wheatears, including two males, one of which treated us to a little song.
