Bob, John and I spent the morning at Ynys-hir looking for migrants (we started off looking for lesser pecker, but gave up on that). An unseen Cuckoo taunted us as we headed to West Marsh, where we also heard Sedge, Cetti's and Grasshopper Warbler.
Back via Ynys Feurig hide. Still two Pintail and three Wigeon, also White Wagtail, Common Sandpiper and a couple of gorgeous Black-tailed Godwits in breeding plumage.
Eventually we managed to see, as well as hear, two of our target species;.Redstart followed by Pied Flycatcher.
I had started the morning at Castle Point, picking up five Whimbrel, two Red-throated Divers and two Shelduck in addition to a few Gannets and manxies and a Sandwich Tern.
