Some brilliant birding this morning for Jill and I, especially from the Ynys Feurig hide. (See Dick Squires' piece below.)
Good to meet up with Dick, Simon Cox and Arfon with Andy James and 3 others whose names, sadly, I am not sure about.
After Dick left (sorry about this Dick) an Osprey came into view. Initially, as it flew downstream, it was against the wooded hillside opposite but as it approached Aberdyfi it gained height, turned back, began to hover and plunge-dived into the water not far from the sea-wall infront of Ynys Feurig hide.
It had caught a big flounder and about 15 minutes later it (Monty) was back on his feeding perch near the nest at Cors Dyfi. After beginning to eat it he apparently dropped it! He then returned upstream and caught another big flatfish which Jill and I later watched him eat while his mate looked on from the nest platform.
Above are a couple of shots taken from my little Panasonix Lumix.
