Purple Heron at Ynyslas

Found this awesome Purple Heron at Ynyslas this morning in a reedy horse paddock just to the south of the Cambrian Coast caravan park entrance. After showing really well for a brief period the bird flew out of view to the back side of the reedy ditch and stayed there for the duration of Russell's flying visit. Unforunately 5 minutes after Russell had gone the bird flew once more and landed a hundred yards to the south and on the other side of the railway line.

There was also decent hirundine passage this morning, 16 Wheatears, 7 White Wags and 35 Whimbrels.

*thought these photos were better than this, hands were too shaky!
