Spectacle off Ynyslas

The sea off Ynyslas was absolutely incredible this afternoon. After seeing loads of Black Terns being reported on birdguides, I headed down to Ynyslas to try and get in on the action. Well.. final tallies were 1500 Common Terns, 75 Arctic Terns, 18 Black Terns, 1 Roseate Tern and 15 Sandwich Terns. Arfon arrived late afternoon when the action really got going and it was just incredible. Big flocks of Commons about everywhere we looked. A flock of 130 odd Commons and a Black Tern circled high up over the sea and disappeared from view, I think this must have occurred multiple times during the day. Birds were landing on the beach, on the sea, feeding in the surf right in front of us, you couldn't look at the sea for a few seconds without picking up birds. Photos don't really do it justice but it gives you an idea at least.

Single Arctic Skua was attracted in briefly and 40 Swifts seen over Borth/Borth Bog as well

Bit of blurry video footage (ignore my voice, do I really sound like that?) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKTpGinCIos&feature=youtu.be
