Aberystwyth seafront

Low tide when I arrived and the rocks held lots of gulls.  I counted 213 Med Gulls, 66 at Castle Point and 147 on College Rocks.  Also at least 25 Sandwich Terns around; up to 18 at Castle Point and a few offshore.
The only waders apart from a few Oystercatchers were three Turnstones.  A Fulmar flew practically overhead but the most unexpected sight was a party of five Grey Herons flying south offshore.
Packed in at 10 a.m. when it became too hot to bird.

P.S.
Chris Bird rang me earlier to say he had a very good count of 162 Med Gulls on College Rocks yesterday, so there are obviously large numbers of these birds around.  Perhaps someone could visit Llanon/Llanrhystud tomorrow to see what they can find there.
