Very early yesterday morning Manx Shearwaters were
streaming past Aberystwyth and so I drove north after them. I only had to go to
the south end of Borth. On the sea, not far out was a large raft of these birds,
extending from Upper Borth northwards. Many more were on the move. heading
north. I counted those Manx Shearwaters resting on the sea in batches of 10 and
reached the figure of 3,500. Unlike the other day, only a few Gannets were with
them. As the tide began to fall the birds started to
disperse.
