Met up with John on the prom this morning but the cool NNW wind drove us up into the shelter on the castle. Just a very light passage of the usual species offshore, but on College Rocks a party of six Med Gulls had grown to 19 by the time we left.
Mostly adults in pristine summer plumage, there was also a juv which was well on the way to 1st w.
John gave me a printout of sightings of a couple of colour-ringed Med Gulls which Chris has managed to read this week , including one of our old favourites, white 39V7. I will post a summary of the life history of this bird on the blog when I have looked into its travels. At the moment I'm searching Google Earth for some of the places it's been seen.
