ABERYSTWYTH

Many Mediterranean Gulls on College Rocks early this morning.  4 had white colour-rings but I could get full details on just one of them:  3HL2  (See yesterday's post about this bird).
A Common Gull was with them, my first in Aber this season.
I met Mark Carter and Sian, now in Aber having spent 7 years on Bardsey Island. Welcome to you both.
Before I could do a count all the gulls suddenly took off as a Heron passed overhead. Many returned, others settled on Castle Point Rocks. I went round there just after Mark has seen a Balearic Shearwater fly past, beyond those rocks.
Then Helen arrived and so the morning went by, but not before a full count of all the Mediterranean Gulls: Grand Total  325
