Llanrhystud and Llansantffraed

I was intrigued by Ian's account of Ringed Plovers in a ploughed field at Llanrhystud yesterday, so I thought I'd take a look.  The field was empty when I arrived, but repeated scanning of the beach revealed around 40 Ringed Plovers and a few Turnstones and Dunlin.
A hefty shower sent me back to the car, and when it passed I had another look at the field and there were the waders:  110 Ringed Plovers, eight Turnstones and eight Dunlin.
No sign of med gulls until just before I left ca140 of them flew out to sea from the mouth of the river behind the caravan park.
Then a visit to Llansantffraed  produced another 45 Turnstones, 32 Curlews and a Whimbrel.
