My "exercise" yesterday morning took me on my electric bike to the disused reservoir
apparently known as Llyn Mynydd Gorddu near Bontgoch. On it were two pairs of
little grebe, a female tuftie, eight wigeon, and various moorhens (with one
using a nest platform). A sparrowhawk flew low over the lake at one point. There
was a pair of stonechat on the Bontgoch road nearby. On the pond/reservoir
closer to Penrhyncoch were herring and lesser blackback gulls and a pair of
tufties. There was a scattering of chiffchaffs around the area and countless
buzzards and red kites.
