Out and about in Cambrian mountains etc

Various sightings of low numbers of common birds eg a 3 hour walk yesterday on the west side of Nant y moch produced 1 skylark, 1 meadow pipit and, the highlight, 6 fieldfares! There was a pair of great black backed gulls and 3 cormorants  on the reservoir. 2 stonechats earlier at Cyneiniog were the first I've seen recently.  It's a good year for breeding crossbills with breeding pairs at a minimum of 4 sites in the Cwm Einion/Nant y moch NRW forests. Single goshawk and brambling recorded from Pandy, Furnace also yesterday.
