Llyn Mynydd Gorddu and red kite observations

A very nice selection of waterbirds at Llyn Mynydd Gorddu yesterday evening, as follows -

Tufties - at least 2 males and 4 females.
Teal - several birds present, males and females
Coot - 2
Little grebe - at least one pair present
Mallard - several
Also a stock dove.

There are still apparently unmated red kites around Salem, yesterday about lunch time there were eight in the air together.  After studying some photographs I can see that some are clearly still in the paler immature plumage, while some appear to be adults. There is also one bird with several secondaries missing in both wings;  one wing also seems to have its inner primary missing.
