On yesterday's Llanrhystud to Aber walk saw 35 choughs. The first group of 4 all
on fence posts about 3 miles N of Llanrhystud, a large flock of 26 a further 3
miles on & the final group of 5 about 2 miles from Aber. Numerous Stonechats
& Wheatears , 5 Swifts & again a poor show of only 4 Swallows.
The sea
was so flat that we managed to see about a dozen surface disturbances which were
probably Mackerel chasing their prey fish. The lack of wind was probably also
the reason for us not seeing any Gannets or Shearwaters.
