A very strong SE wind – birds hunkered down where they could find shelter
The juv White-fronted Goose still on the flooded field but had gone by the time I returned around 11.15.
A Chiffchaff, a Wheatear and a Water Pipit were the interesting passerines. Fewer Blackbirds (c25) than previously seen - in the hedges and on the freshly seeded field, plus two Song Thrushes. The only finches were Goldfinches (30), zero Chaffinches. 150 Starlings.
300 Med Gulls, 150 Black-headed Gulls, A Greater and a Lesser Black-backed and perhaps 30 Herring Gulls.
18 Curlew, one Bar-tailed Godwit, 14 Turnstone, 18 Oystercatchers, 3 Snipe, 430 Golden Plover, 1 Cormorant.
