Ynyslas

Ynyslas was raw, damp and bleak this morning, but plenty about to interest an itinerant birder. Hundreds of golden plover were congregated by the tern posts in the estuary along with a few redshank, oystercatcher, curlew and dunlin. On the boatyard fields, decent numbers of lapwing and curlew were interspersed with fieldfare, redwing and mistle thrush. There was a small  flock of common scoter offshore at the brickhouse. Little else at sea except for a line of ten socially-distancing mute swans heading in from way offshore. Made for quite a sight on such a grey morning.
