There was a great crested grebe in the bay yesterday (21st). In the afternoon I had the binos and saw it again at closer range from the pier (I assume it was the same bird). Interestingly it was in breeding plumage. I then had a close range fly pass of a pair of peregrines heading towards the head. The usual rock pipits were about and shags fishing close in.
