The last few days for the New Quay area.
Russ Edwards has reported a white kite on his farm just to the southeast of the village.
Two (or a pair) of peregrines have been interacting around the Bird’s Rock area. The larger female is probably a young bird from last year judging by the plumage. The other bird was in adult plumage and almost certainly a male. Chiffchaffs are calling in different locations.
On the ledges kittiwakes are at their nest sites but the auks are still coming and going. Up on the top there are more stonechats about. I have yet to spot any wheatears. I see one of the leucistic blackbirds on most days and in fact one was in my back garden just before typing this.
