Aberystwyth - Ynyslas - Glandwr

During a 30 min seawatch, 8:10 to 8:40, from near Castle Point this morning, parties of seven Whimbrel and four Sandwich Terns flew north, both year firsts for me. Also appearing; ca35 Gannets, two Red-throated Divers, 17 Common Scoter and two Manx Shearwaters.  Six Swallows came in off the sea and there were four Purple Sandpipers in the roost.

At Ynyslas, ca 90 Ringed Plover and ca 65 Dunlin, plus a few Curlews and six Little Egrets, then it was on to the turn car park, where on the sea were at least 80 Common Scoter and three R-t Divers.  The only small bird on the car park was a White Wagtail.

A walk to Glandwr produced only five Teal and three Mute Swans on the pool, and three Redshank on the Leri.
