Cross Inn Forest

It was great to be back at Cross Inn forest this morning. My first visit in over a year. Sadly a pretty stiff breeze reduced movement and variety. Saying that the number of singing Willow Warbler were impressive. They were everywhere. 24 bird species recorded-

Wren, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Common Redstart, Song & Mistle Thrush, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Chaffinch, Carrion Crow, Robin, Siskin, Stock Dove, Blackbird, Blackcap, Lesser Redpoll, Cuckoo, Pheasant, Great & Blue Tit, Meadow Pipit, Goldcrest, Dunnock, Canada Goose and Treecreeper.
Also earlier at Aberaeron I had brilliant close views of a Common Sandpiper on the north beach.
