This afternoon at Llansantffraed I enjoyed splendid views of a male Sparrowhawk, initially perched on a low branch overhanging the river, then, unexpectedly, in dramatic pursuit of a larger bird, a Woodpigeon. Although contact was made, the Woodpigeon got away.
