Ynyslas is too big an area for me to cover in one day, I have to do it in chunks, so yesterday I walked to the beach beyond the dunes at the estuary mouth. There were hundreds of Manxies, dozens of Gannets and I counted 17 Sandwich Terns, 1 Whimbrel, 2 Barwits, dozens of resting Ringed Plover and Dunlin and near to them 3 active Sanderling, my first for this year. As I was watching them I noticed there was quite a size difference between the three.
