Borth and Ynyslas

There were at least 800 Manx Shearwaters off Borth when I arrived this morning, and I could see hundreds more further north,  Unfortunately the drizzle then moved in and by the time i got to Ynyslas they had moved on, though a few had entered the estuary.

Still not many waders; just five Ringed Plovers, three Dunlin and five Curlews.  Around 90 Oystercatchers were on the south bank of the Dyfi,  A passage of Swallows, up to ca30 at a time, were feeding low over the beach, where there were at least 20 Pied Wagtails, mostly juvs, and a few Meadow Pipits.

On the Leri bank, a Herring Gull struggled to eat a (dead) eel which was as long as the bird, but was still no nearer success after 20 minutes.
