I don't usually advertise on the blog, but I picked up my copy of the new national avifauna from Ystwyth Books yesterday and I'm enormously impressed. I won't write a review, but urge everyone with an interest in birds in Wales to buy a copy.
One feature I particularly liked was that the bird names used throughout are the ones we all know and use. e.g. Teal. Osprey, Wheatear, not Eurasian Teal, Western Osprey, Northern Wheatear.. There are many more, of course. Glad to get that off my chest.
