Assuming correctly that Mwnt would be well-watched today I decided to try the fish factory at New Quay. From 8:00 to 12:00 my highlights were three Arctic Skuas, three Red-throated Divers (all in breeding plumage), six Sandwich Terns, nine Med Gulls. five Common Scoter,and a Manx Shearwater.
It was gratifying to see a large proportion of juveniles among the hundreds of Kittiwakes which passed. Also a continuous passage of Gannets and of the 250 or so auks which went through the few within i.d. range were Razorbills.
