Whoopers over Ynyslas

An unexpected sighting at Ynyslas this morning as their flight calls alerted me to five Whooper Swans flying north, high over the estuary.  Otherwise very quiet, with 100 plus Wigeon, at least 30 Skylarks with  50 plus Linnets and a Peregrine heading south along the Leri.

A look at the sea from near the YHA produced only two Red-throated Divers and about 35 Common Scoter: all males as far as I could see.

Also a report from Phil Baber and Pam Buckle yesterday of a Peregrine hanging in the wind above Constitution Hill before stooping towards the north..
