A short seawatch from castle point at mid-day today produced 4 purple sandpipers, 1 dunlin and 33 whimbrel on the rocks below castle point. 5 more dunlin flew high overhead heading north and out at sea there was 393 manxies and 29 gannets. The highlight was a fairly close in arctic tern which flew along the south end of south beach before heading straight out to sea.
Yesterday before bumping into Harry I had 378 manxies, 56 gannets, 2 kittiwakes, 8 auks, 23 common scoter and 5 sandwich terns out at sea, along with 3 whimbrel and a curlew north.
