I spent a while photographing swifts attending their nest box on our house today. I wanted to get a shot of the bulge in their throat, (the bolas,) where they store food to take back to the nest to feed their young. It can be seen quite clearly in the picture of the bird arriving, And for good measure, a shot the bird leaving, minus the bulge.
