Helen was on the prom a little later than me yesterday and found six Turnstones in the roost, plus two Sanwich Terns north. Wednesday evening she had nine Turnstones and at least seven House Martins round the nest sire, so at least one nest has fledged young.
We met up at Castle Point this morning; eight roosting Turnstones. Very little out to sea, just a few manxies north and Gannets south. Helen then noticed a small party of Swifts feeding over the Old College.. They stayed around and we counted a minimum of six. Meanwhile three Bottle-nosed Dolphins put on quite a display as the moved slowly north past the point.
Highlight was a passing Whimbrel, whose call alerted us in time to watch it flying north, low over he sea.
