I visited Moel Golomen today and soon found the yellowhammers. There was at least one singing male (probably two) and judging by the contact calls I could hear, other birds were present. Also seen/heard was at least one pair of whinchat, a stock dove and some partridges in long vegetation which I couldn't see.
At Llyn Mynydd Gorddu, there were two juvenile coots, at least one pair of
little grebes with three young, moorhen with young and various mallards. Sedge
warblers seemed to have bred around the lake.
